900 7th Street Rm 351
Wichita Falls, Texas 76310
I am honored to have been granted the
privilege by Wichita County voters to serve
as the Criminal District Attorney of Wichita
In accordance with articles 2.01 and 2.02 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, the Wichita County Criminal District Attorney represents the State of Texas in all criminal cases and appeals in the county’s five justice (“JP”) courts, county court, two county courts-at-law, and three district courts representing the citizens of Wichita County in a jurisdiction of approximately 130,698 people which requires a well-organized staff.
The Criminal District Attorney’s Office is staffed with 18 assistant criminal district attorneys, 8 licensed peace officers, and 11 administrative/support personnel. We handle approximately 6,000 criminal cases and approximately 350 juvenile referrals annually.
The criminal district attorney is also responsible for representing the State of Texas and Wichita County in civil legal matters. Bond forfeiture proceedings, mental health commitments, protective orders, and asset forfeitures are all handled by this office. Approximately 500 Child Protective Service (CPS) cases are filed with the criminal district attorney each year. County officials and employees are represented by the criminal district attorney in general civil litigation and in civil rights lawsuits filed in state and federal courts.
It is our ethical duty to see that justice is done and not merely to seek a conviction. Our mission is to make Wichita County a safer place to live. Thank you for the opportunity to serve the people of Wichita County.
